PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Point University’s financial aid eligible Medical Assisting Certificate program immerses students in a variety of topics including medical terminology, medical systems and procedures, and medical ethics, so they can operate both the clinical and administrative side of a healthcare organization. Towards the end of the program, students will complete a clinical externship at an approved facility near their home where they will gain hands-on experience and practical skills to confidently enter the field. Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared to sit for post-program certifications, including the Certified Medical Assistant credential from the National Center for Competency Testing.
Those looking to advance their education and careers can transfer the 25 credits earned through the certificate program to Point’s online Associate of Science in Medical Assisting, and then the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration.
